Investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a rooming house in downtown Moncton early this afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the 200 block of High Street shortly before 1 p.m.
Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Keith Guptill says crews saw smoke billowing from the building as they arrived on scene.
He says firefighters managed to knock down the blaze quickly.
Guptill says the rooming house had several occupants and they all managed to escape the fire unhurt.
