Fire damages Mountain Road restaurant

No word yet on the cause of a fire at a Mountain Road restaurant.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Mike Lake says heavy smoke could be seen coming from An’s Cafe and Restaurant at around 8:30pm Saturday night.

Firefighters from four stations were on scene for around two hours, but Lake says they had to return to the scene at around midnight after reports of a rekindle.

RCMP, Ambulance New Brunswick and NB Power also responded.

Initial reports indicate the fire may have originated in the kitchen area and there is extensive damage but the Fire Marshall was on the scene on Sunday investigating.
