The City of Moncton officially turns 125 years old this month and a big celebration is planned from April 23 to April 26.
City spokesperson Nicole Melanson says organizers tried to find things that would appeal to all ages.
“We were seeking to find actiivites that were related to culture, to music, to history, to active living. The biggest highlight is the Friday night fireworks extravaganza.”
Just prior to the fireworks on Friday, April 23, Simple Plan will headline a free concert at Riverfront Park starting at 6pm.
Moncton will also be hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 Trophy Tour.
At many birthday events, donations are being accepted for Food Depot Alimentaire.
