Canada’s Minister of International Trade is encouraging companies in Atlantic Canada to look beyond traditional trading partners such as the United States.
During a stop in Moncton, Ed Fast says enormous trading opportunities are opening up in Asia, Europe and Africa.
Fast says the federal government has various tools in place to help companies that want to trade outside of North America.
“The federal government has tools available and has opened up new markets around the world where we have eliminated tariffs and removed other barriers or we have made them more understandable.”
He understands that some companies may find the process intimidating but he adds it will pay off in the long run.
Fast hosted an export workshop in Moncton with a number of small and medium sized companies.
