A Manager has been named for the new community food centre that will be located in the Garrison Centre.
Ben MacMichael has been appointed by Food Depot Alimentaire.
He has extensive experience, managing the West End Food Bank for the past five years. There he established a network of community partners and volunteers, created a community garden and also created the Canstruction event.
The new community food centre on St. George Street will be a centralized location that will service residents who are currently receiving assistance from Open Hands, West End and Second Mile Food banks.
MacMichael will begin his new role on March 21st.
The new centre is expected to open in May.
