Fatal Crash Leads To Impaired Driving Charges

Impaired driving charges have been laid after a fatal crash in Renous.

RCMP say it appears a 68 year old man was pulling his vehicle out of a driveway on Route 108 last night when it was struck by a pick up truck.

Due to a collision, Route 108 near Renous between the Red Bridge Rd and Route 8 is currently closed. Traffic is being diverted.

He died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

A 54 year old White Rapids man was held in custody overnight and has been released on a promise to appear in Miramichi Provincial court on April 1st.
