Family continues search for missing N.B. senior

The family of a missing Grand Bay-Westfield senior continue to seek information on her disappearance.

Ruth Carol Sutton, who also goes by Carol, was last seen walking Sunday morning along Mallard Drive.

Police have said the 79-year-old woman has a medical condition which could make her disoriented.

An official search operation was launched soon after but was suspended by the RCMP on Wednesday.

However, community members have continued the search, recently focusing on the water and shoreline.

The family is asking people to speak with loved ones and friends “who may not be on social media or follow the news” to confirm they have not seen Sutton or given her a drive somewhere.

Despite the official search being suspended, RCMP said they continue to investigate Sutton’s disappearance.

She was last seen wearing a tan-colored Tilley-style hat, a light blue jacket, ankle-length rubber boots, and white socks.

Anyone with information should contact Grand Bay-Westfield RCMP at 506-757-1020.
