Experts Say It Will Be A Below Normal Hurricane Season

Hurricane season has just over two months left but the experts says it will be a little a below normal season.

That’s due in part because of a El Nino-a prolonged warming in the Pacific Ocean sea surface temperatures.

Weather Network Meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg says this leads to a lot of wind sheer in the Atlantic basin which is the breeding ground for hurricanes.

Sonnenburg says “it’s looking like we could see development later on into the season to see maybe tropical storms impact the coast and even track up the eastern seaboard into Atlantic Canada.”

It turns out Tropical Storm Henri was not too blame for the massive soaking in Southern New Brunswick on September 11th. Another weather system moving through the U.S. is too blame for that.
