SUMMARY:Shenandoah & Mark Wills
DESCRIPTION:Shenandoah: GRAMMY®\, CMA and ACM-winning hitmakers Shenandoah\, fueled by Marty Raybon’s distinctive vocals and the band’s skilled musicianship\, are celebrated for delivering such hits as “Two Dozen Roses”\, “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You\, Next to Me” as well as such achingly beautiful classics as “I Want to be Loved Like That” and the GRAMMY® winning “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart” duet with Alison Krauss. To date\, the group has sold millions of albums worldwide and has over 300 million on-demand streams. \nRaybon and McGuire formed Shenandoah in 1984 in Muscle Shoals\, Alabama with bassist Ralph Ezell\, keyboardist Stan Thorn and guitarist Jim Seales. Shenandoah inked a deal with Columbia Records and began establishing a national fan base with their self-titled debut in 1987. However\, it was the band’s sophomore effort\, The Road Not Taken\, that spawned their first top ten hits “She Doesn’t Cry Anymore” and “Mama Knows.” Shenandoah followed with three consecutive No. 1 hits “Church on Cumberland Road\,” “Sunday in the South” and “Two Dozen Roses.” “The Church on Cumberland Road” spent two weeks at the top of the chart and made country music history as it marked the first time that a country band’s first No. 1 single spent more than one week at the summit. Shenandoah became known for delivering songs that celebrated the importance of faith and family while reveling in the joys of small-town life. “Next to You\, Next to Me” topped the charts for three weeks and “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart\,” a beautiful duet with Alison Krauss\, won a Country Music Association Award for Vocal Event of the year and a GRAMMY® for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. Shenandoah also won the Academy of Country Music’s Vocal Group of the Year in 1991. \nMark Wills: It was “19(90) Somethin’” when Grand Ole Opry member Mark Wills went from singing at Atlanta’s infamous Buckboard to releasing his first of 19 Billboard-charting singles across seven albums. While climbing his musical ‘ladder\,’ he has recorded Gold and Platinum albums and released some of the most enduring and recognizable Country Music hits of the last 25 Years. \n“Wish You Were Here\,” “Jacob’s Ladder” and “I Do (Cherish You)” cemented his country status in the late ’90s and at the ‘dawning of a new decade’ in the early ’00s. “Jacob’s Ladder” was released via Mercury Nashville in May 1996 as Wills’ debut single\, and it became the singer’s first of eight Top 10 hits. His debut self-titled album followed “full of rambunctious good-time songs teeming with sly wit and bittersweet ballads — all in a baritone that throbs with emotion” per Entertainment Weekly. \nReleased 20 years ago as part of Wills’ Greatest Hits collection\, the feel-good track stretched the singer both musically and vocally. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart Top 5 hits “Places I’ve Never Been\,” “I Do (Cherish You)\,” “Don’t Laugh at Me\,” and No. 1 single “Wish You Were Here” hit the airwaves between 1997-1999. Fittingly\, Wills’ early chart success earned him an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Male Vocalist in 1998. One of his biggest hits to date is the RIAA Gold-certified “19 Somethin’” – a six-week No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. \nIn 2022\, Mark re-recorded and released his hit “Don’t Laugh at Me” with the acapella recording group\, Home Free\, featuring Mark’s daughter\, Macey. In conjunction with this release\, a new music video was filmed staring 21 Pineapples’ Nate Smith and JennaLee Wasserman earning the collaborators 3 Gold Telly Awards. \nHe also has taken more than a dozen trips to entertain U.S. troops in Iraq\, Kuwait\, Afghanistan\, Korea\, and Italy. Wills continues to hit the road with his high-energy show full of hits that were the soundtrack to so many people’s lives. \nTickets\nTickets on sale via Ticketmaster.ca or at the Box Office 90 minutes prior to any show time. \nThis is an all-ages show
