A 5-year-old North Atlantic right whale is entangled in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada says the male was spotted June 8 near Shippagan, New Brunswick by aerial surveillance.
Officials are trying to find him and if they do, a satellite tag will be attached to the gear to track him.
And if possible, they will try to get the whale free.
You are asked to stear clear of the rescue operation.
Details on the type of gear is not clear at this time.
