With Municipal elections coming up in May, Elections NB is offering some information on what we can expect.
Mike Quinn is the Chief Electoral Officer of New Brunswick.
He says on May 9th, we elect officials for all of the 107 different municipalities in the province.
“So that’s 107 Mayors, 544 Councillors to go with that, the other categories are the District Education Council and the Regional Health Authority,” says Quinn.
Quinn says you can download your nomination papers at any time from the Elections NB website
“You should take it to the returning office in the area in which you’re running, you can fax it, you can scan it as long as you get it there by 2pm on April 8th and then deliver the original at a later time,” says Quinn.
He adds to put your name forward you need to find 10 nominators, download your papers from Elections NB, and file those papers between March 21st and April 8th.
