Edmundston Hospital Faces Critical Situation

The Edmundston Regional Hospital currently has 13 patients with COVID-19 and eight are in the intensive care unit on respirators.

The ICU has nine beds and five patients are in the COVID-19 unit.

Vitalité Health Network is providing regular status updates on the critical situation the hospital is now facing.

One patient from Edmundston was transferred to the Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Tuesday.

Some ambulatory care services and elective surgeries have been temporarily reduced.

Vitalité says the situation in Edmundston is evolving rapidly and updates will be provided when needed.
