Directive Issued In Province On Medically Assisted Dying

Since the bill on medically assisted dying is stuck in the Senate, prosecutors in the province have been given a new directive on criminal prosecutions.

The RCMP and municipal police forces will have to consult with the public prosecution service before opening up any such investigation.

According to the New Brunswick Public Prosecution Services, as of June 6th, medically assisted death, within the guidelines of the Supreme Court decision, is no longer illegal in Canada.
