Dieppe neighbourhood locked down by police

Codiac RCMP locked down a Dieppe neighbourhood yesterday following a report of someone carrying a gun near an apartment complex on Gauvin Road.

The call came in around 4-pm yesterday afternoon.

The Mounties set up and held a perimeter for several hours and a police dog searched the area, but the call turned out to be unfounded.

Constable Damien Theriault says things went well and people respected the perimeter so police could do their job.
