Dieppe Mayor Proud to Host Jeux De l’Acadie Finals In 2025

News of the return of Jeux de l’Acadie to Dieppe in 2025, has the Mayor smiling.

It was announced earlier this week, that Dieppe had been awarded the 44th finals of the games.

Yvon Lapierre estimates the event will bring over 5000 people to the region, “Whether they are from New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Nova Scotia. We have also in the past, invited our sister city of Dieppe in France to send a delegation.”

Youth between the ages of 12 and 15 take part in multi-sport and cultural activities.

“Brings business to the area, in some cases people who have never been to the area. Particularly proud of the infrastructure that we have in Dieppe to accommodate the games. It brings Francophone people together and promotes the language, but also promotes the camaraderie between different regions where Francophone don’t get the chance to meet together, ” Lapierre adds.

The finals were held in Saint John and Quispamsis this year, and are planned for Memramcook in 2023.

Bouctouche is slated to host the finals in 2024.

The games were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
