Dieppe launches its first ‘Growing Together’ municipal forum

The City of Dieppe is inviting residents to help guide its future at a new municipal forum, “Growing Together.”

The event will be held at City Hall on June 11 and 12 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will have interactive booths where residents can learn about and provide feedback on a range of topics.

These include housing densification, the Dieppe Boulevard extension, public transit enhancements, environmental protection, and broader community themes such as Francophonie, immigration, and neighbourhood development.

Communications Manager Amélie-Anne Gauthier described the forum as a more relaxed alternative to formal meetings.

“We’re hoping that people will take this opportunity to ask questions and to be more informed about those big projects that are upcoming,” she said.

Gauthier added that the format is aiming to keep things friendly and interactive.

“You can just come in, take in the information, go with your pen and your little token to vote,” she noted.

Along with face-to-face interaction, Dieppe is also offering an online survey that addresses similar subjects with some additional content.

The input gathered will help shape the city’s future action plans and development strategies.

Gauthier also explained that residents who show up in person will receive a small gift, while online participants have the opportunity to win a prize.

The forum comes as Dieppe experiences rapid growth, with the population surging by over 20 per cent in just a few years, according to city officials.

It’s also a part of a broader push for transparency and public participation, linking citizen input to upcoming action plans and strategic projects.
