Deer Season, One Of The Worst On Record

With the bad winters we’ve had over the past two seasons, it made a for a slow deer season.

Wildlife Biologist with the Department of Natural Resources Joe Kennedy says it was one of the worst ever.

The harvest this year was around 4300 deer, which is about 38 per cent fewer than last year.

He says with the bad winters, it has set back the deer population.

He is confident that if we have a mild or average winter this year, the deer population will rebound…

The Department of Natural Resources doesn’t plan on making any huge changes yet, for the next deer season. They’ll wait and see what kind of winter we have this year.
