Deadline For Employers To Apply To Canada Summer Jobs Program Looms At Midnight Tonight

Midnight tonight is the deadline for employers who wish to apply to hire students for the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

That’s according to Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe MP Ginette Petitpas-Taylor who says the deadline was already extended by two weeks to give people more time.

She says they’ve heard loud and clear from youth that one of the biggest barriers they face while entering the job market is a lack of experience.

“So with this opportunity, it allows young people within the age of 15-30 to gain the required experience that will hopefully lead to a full time, permanent job,” says Petitpas-Taylor.

She says they’ve also simplified the application process, and it can be quickly done online.

Petitpas-Taylor says last year, they gave out 331 jobs to students in this riding, that almost amounted to a $1million dollar investment here in Moncton, Riverview, and Dieppe.
