Daniel Allain will not re-offer in N.B. election

Another Progressive Conservative MLA will not re-offer in this year’s New Brunswick election.

Daniel Allain, who represents Moncton East, informed his constituents in a letter on Friday morning.

Allain says he isn’t retiring, but he plans to seek opportunities in the private sector.

“I have enjoyed my work in the Legislative Assembly-the last few years have been particularly productive and rewarding. I’m very proud of the historic work we’ve accomplished in modernizing New Brunswick’s local governance system,” says Allain.

Over the past 25 years, Allain has served as MLA, cabinet minister, city councillor, deputy minister, and the president of a Crown corporation.

Allain says he plans to stay involved in his community, but at this stage, he doesn’t know what form that will take.
