CTF Says NB’s Job Creation Agencies Are Not Working

The Canadian Taxpayer’s Federation want to see the Gallant government reduce barriers preventing employers from hiring more workers instead of throwing good money after bad.

Atlantic Director Kevin Lacey says the newly created Opporotunities New Brunswick crown corporation is no different than the recently axed Invest NB.

He tells us that is why this is so important because the job numbers are staggering with the provincial unemployment rate sitting at 9.3 per cent.

He uses Saint John as a example saying the city has not seen an improvement over the last decade in the numbers of jobs available for residents.

Lacey says the Department of Economic Development cost taxpayers around $140 million dollars last year.
