Crackdown On Speeders Underway In Metro Moncton

Codiac RCMP are on the lookout for speeders in Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe with many recent complaints that drivers are going too fast.

In handing out tickets, police say some drivers have gone as much as 30 km/h above the posted speed limit.

Residents have been calling police about speeders in residential areas and places where children gather such as parks and playgrounds.

A reminder that if no sign is posted, the speed limit in residential areas is 50 km/h hour.

The fine for speeding starts at $172.50.
