Court Action Looming Over Pension Reform

Court action by the provincial government retirees over reforms to their pensions is appearing more likely with a deadline of mid-August set for a resolution.

Clifford Kennedy of the Pension Coalition says when he was in opposition, Premier Brian Gallant opposed the pension reforms the Conservatives brought in but is now just going along with them.

Kennedy believes court action is unavoidable since the retirees can’t even get a face to face meeting with the Premier these days and besides, they don’t trust the government.
