One week after Moncton City Council approved the construction tender for the East End Pool, contractors are on site.
That’s according to Moncton East Youth Centre executive director Pikey French, who delivered the news on Facebook.
She adds the kids are so excited to talk about the new pool, they are also working on ‘thank yous’ for those who helped push the project forward, including local MLAs, and City Councillors.
After 40 years of use, the original pool was closed in 2013, and after years of discussions, delays, and public rallies, the $2.3 million facility is under construction.
The new pool is expected to be ready to open in June 2019.
