Contraband and other items seized from federal prison

Correctional Service Canada has seized contraband and unauthorized items from Atlantic Institution in Renous.

A package was found on December 6th at the maximum security prison.

The items seized included 57 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 22 grams of cocaine, 225 grams of tobacco, 200 grams of hashish, USB keys, SD cards, cell phones, and a cell phone charger.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) uses several tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions including ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors.
