Codiac Transpo is offering free-ride days as a way to encourage Greater Moncton residents to try the service.
Free transit service will once again be provided during Environment Week, on June 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Codiac Transop General Manager Angela Allain says they’ll also offer free service during the Global Climate Strike in September.
“We always see ridership increase when we have free days, so it is a useful time for people to get out to try it and really do their part in reducing our GHG emissions,” she says.
Allain says they will also begin offering free service on election days, including the May 11th municipal elections.
This is meant to encourage citizen engagement and provide better accessibility to voting stations.
Free service on New Year’s Eve will also continue.
These will recurring annually until the Public Transit Governance Committee decides otherwise.
