Codiac RCMP Receiving Hundreds Of COVID-19 Related Calls For Service

Codiac RCMP continue to receive calls with regards to those not abiding by COVID-19 pandemic rules.

Superintendant Tom Critchlow says they have been inundated with calls for service.

“We have probably responded to approximately 800 calls where files have been generated and we’ve had to attend. It seems to have slowed down in the last few days though,” Critchlow says.

The calls included those who are not socially distancing to gatherings, or not self quarantining after coming in from outside of the province.

Critchlow says they have changed the menu on their main phone line to make it easier for the public who are calling it into the Codiac RCMP.

A 1-844 phone number is provided, which is designated for non-urgent COVID-19 related questions.
