Close But No Cigar – Almost Record Heat!

The hottest week of the summer so far in Metro Moncton is pushing temperatures close to record territory.

The Greater Moncton Airport reached a high of 33.2 degrees yesterday which was just shy of the record of 33.5 degrees from 1987.

It’s possible we will come close to a record again today with a high of 31 expected.

While it’s hot, it’s not officially a heat wave according to Environment Canada which by definition is three consecutive days with temperatures reaching 32 degrees or higher.
