City Introduces Vaccination Directive For Employees

The City of Moncton has introduced a vaccination directive for employees.

After a review of policies implemented at the federal and provincial levels, Moncton will proceed with similar requirements, City Manager Marc Landry announced during Monday’s Moncton City Council meeting.

“At the employee level, we will be proceeding with putting in place a vaccination directive for all city employees moving forward,” said Landry.

The City Manager said this ensures that the health and safety of employees continues to be a top priority.

“If employees do not want to show proof of vaccination or are not vaccinated they would have to wear a mask when they are working in City Hall,” said Landry.

“We would have provisions in terms of individuals that are not vaccinated for regular testing.”

An exact date for enforcing the directive has not been implemented, but Landry told the council he anticipates it will be towards the end of October.

These measures will not apply to Moncton City Councillors, according to Landry.

The City has not implemented any requirements for Moncton residents that visit City Hall.
