It’s election day!
Polling stations are open from 10am until 8pm tonight.
When figuring out where to vote, Chief Electoral Officer Kim Poffenroth says it’s important you refer to your voter information card that you received in the mail.
If you didn’t get one, you can be added to the voters list at your polling station.
“Don’t automatically go to the location you’ve always gone to. Make sure you check your voter information card or check the website, call the returning office or you can also call our call centre, which is 1-888-858-8683,” Poffenroth says.
Some of the regular polling stations are not open or available for this provincial election, “Some of the landlords are still not opening their buildings due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Poffenroth says. “We have had to move some of the polling locations and they have changed as a result.”
Voters not on the list will need pieces of I-D which show their name, current address and signature. They can also have an eligible elector swear an oath for them.
