Charity of the week: Read NB (Moncton)

There are many charities in Moncton and the surrounding area. You’ve probably heard some of their names, but may not know exactly what they do. Each week, we’ll highlight a different organization, sharing who they are and the work they do. We’ll also let you know about any upcoming events where you can learn more or get involved.

This week’s Charity of the Week is Read NB (Moncton)

READ Moncton is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to promoting adult literacy in Moncton and surrounding areas by providing free one-on-one tutoring. We were founded in 1977 and are an affiliated Council of READ NB. We operate under the guidance of a Board of Directors.

Our Vision

To enhance lives and to build a stronger community through improved literacy skills.

    Improve Your Reading

We offer free, one-to-one, confidential tutoring for individuals (ages 16 years and over) who want to upgrade their reading, writing and or math skills. Our programs are designed to help everyone, no matter their reading abilities.

    Become a Tutor

Our tutors include people of all ages and from many different backgrounds. These volunteers are committed to helping others. Free training and teaching supplies are provided to our tutors. They are also supported by our local tutor coordinator.

    Support Us with a Donation

Our organization serves Moncton and surrounding areas. The money raised ensures that READ Moncton can continue to provide free one-to-one tutoring services.
