Charges have been laid in connection with three alleged dog attacks in west Saint John.
In a Facebook post, the city said 27 charges were laid in provincial court last week.
It said the charges involve four Louisiana Catahoula Leopard mix breed dogs.
City officials did not elaborate on the charges or say if anyone was hurt in the alleged attacks.
Back on September 20, the city issued a warning after individuals reported being attacked on separate occasions by the same dogs.
At the time, the city said an investigation was underway involving police, legal staff, and the by-law enforcement office.
It also said there are practical and legal issues related to seizing dogs, which must be considered when deciding on an enforcement strategy.
According to the American Kennel Club, Louisiana Catahoula Leopard dogs require “firm guidance and early socialization, as they can be independent, territorial, and protective.”
