Charges Laid After Driver Strikes RCMP Cruiser And Then Leaves Scene

A 16 year old boy is facing charges after a driver fled police at a checkstop in Blackville.

Last week, RCMP were trying to stop a vehicle on Route 8, but the driver struck a cruiser and threatened to hit an officer, The driver then left the scene.

The vehicle ended up in a ditch and the driver was arrested.

The teen is facing several charges including assaulting a police officer with a weapon, and flight from police.

He is scheduled to return to court on January 18th.
