Charges Laid After Armed Robbery On Main Street

A 30-year-old Moncton man has been charged after an armed robbery at a Main Street business.

RCMP say on Monday night, officers on patrol were approached by someone reporting the robbery in progress.

A suspect with a knife was arrested a short time later.

Darrell Dean Evans is charged with armed robbery and will return to court Thursday afternoon for a bail hearing.

“As a result of pro-active patrols in the Moncton area, members were able to respond immediately and contain the situation,” said Staff Sergeant Thierry Malenfant with the Codiac Regional RCMP. “No one was injured during the incident.”
