Moncton man arrested after Main Street assault

A 43-year-old Moncton man is facing an aggravated assault charge in connection with an incident in the downtown.

Codiac Regional RCMP say a man was found unresponsive Moncton on Saturday night.

When police arrived, a 37-year-old man with serious injuries had to be rushed to the hospital.

The suspect fled before police arrived. He was arrested on Tuesday at a Weldon Street home.

He appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Wednesday to be charged, and remains in custody awaiting another court date on Friday.
