Safety First For Graduation Celebrations!

With graduation ceremonies and celebrations planned for the coming week, RCMP are sending out a reminder to students to party safely.

Corporal Jullie Rogers-Marsh says parents should be talking to their kids about being responsible, Certainly we encourage students to plan ahead and make arrangements for safe transportation. That is important. It is a milestone in a lot of people’s lives, so we want to make sure it is celebrated in a safe and responsible manner.”

RCMP will be monitoring and patrolling graduation parties and related events, in an effort to keep roadways and students safe and to ensure there are no fatal accidents.

“The RCMP would like to remind graduates to make it a safe graduation, one to remember for the right reasons and not because it is a celebration gone wrong,” Rogers-Marsha says.
