Canstruction 2016 On Display Now!

Creations with cans, that’s what you’ll find today through Sunday at CF Champlain Mall, and and it will benefit the local food banks.

This is the third annual Canstruction event to be held in Greater Moncton.

Spokesperson with JDI Wayne Macdonald says they felt it was important that they get involved, “First, it started out as a charity initiative and we had to get some bodies to help out, but it quickly manifested itself into a good community, goodwill gesture that people got really excited about. It’s a chance for all of us to come together in the name of the food bank and have a bit of fun, but create awareness where we really need it, to help the food banks thrive and do what they do so well.”

Three teams have their sculptures on display, including the Moncton firefighters/Crandall Engineering, JDI and the Rotary Club for Moncton West and Riverview.

Last year, the event collected over 8500 cans for the food banks.
