Canadian actress Catherine O’Hara dead at 71

Well-known Canadian actress Catherine O’Hara has died, according to multiple reports.

She starred in the hit-TV show “Schitt’s Creek,” and classics “Home Alone” and “Beetlejuice.”

The Toronto native was 71, there is no word on the cause of death.

The “SCTV” alum won multiple Emmy Awards over her decades-long career.

In a statement on Instagram, her ‘Home Alone’ co-star Macaulay Culkin wrote: “Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later.”

Prime Minister Mark Carney is also offering condolences over the late iconic actress.

In a statement, Friday evening, Carney says he joins all Canadians in mourning the loss of O’Hara.

“[She] was a beloved comedic actress who captivated audiences on stage and screen,” say Carney.
