This terribly sad story below is from the Greater Moncton SPCA’s FB page today. Please read and help if you can, and adopt, don’t shop!
“Recently, the NBSPCA rescued huskies, corgis, beagles and dalmatian mixes from a puppy mill outside of Moncton. We received 19 of those dogs. The majority of these dogs are in horrendous shape, physically and emotionally.
Some of the dogs arrived so skinny that they had to spend the night at the vet prior to coming to the shelter. They are currently on a special diet to not shock their system while we slowly introduce food back into them.
A few of the dogs are emotionally shut down. They try to hide their face and avoid any contact. They cower behind another dog. It is very sad to see and heartbreaking.
All the dogs smell so bad. They are covered in urine and feces, and the majority of their white fur is stained. The smell is like a dirty diaper baking in a hot car.
We have started to raise funds for these dogs as they go through their recovery journey and their healing process.
