Campaign Launched Outlining Travel Options To and From Events Centre

A lot of residents have been expressing concerns about how to get to and from the new Moncton Events Centre since there is no on-site parking.

The City of Moncton and its partners have launched a campaign which includes a website to outline the various transportation options available.

Deputy Mayor Greg Turner says there are thousands of free and paid parking spots available within a five minute walk of the Events Centre.

Other options available include public transit, taxi, biking, walking and a designated drop-off zone for those with mobility issues.

City spokesperson Nicole Melanson says after an event ends, the 5 to 10 minute walk back to your car would actually take less time than sitting in traffic trying to leave the Coliseum parking lot.

The website is www.mybestoption.ca which is a partnership between the City of Moncton, DMCI, SMG and the Moncton Wildcats.
