A 27-year-old man from Burnt Church First Nation is facing a number of charges after colliding with a school bus.
Neguac RCMP arrested the driver after he left the site of the accident on Route 11.
Police say the school bus was carrying students at the time of the crash.
They say no one was injured but the car sustained significant damage.
Tad Dedam has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, possession of a stolen vehicle and failure to comply with the conditions of a probation order.
Dedam is also facing charges for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating a motor vehicle while suspended and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Dedam was in Miramichi Provincial Court yesterday and has been remanded into custody.
A bail hearing is scheduled for May 2, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
