Britain Votes To Go It Alone

Britain has decided to leave the European Union and British Prime Minister David Cameron has said he will step down by October.

The vote was 52 per cent to leave and 48 per cent to remain with a 72 per cent voter turnout.

Scotland voted to stay and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says Scotland’s future is with the E-U which raises the possibility of another referendum on Scottish independence. Voters in Northern Ireland and London also voted to stay in the E-U.

The process on actually leaving is said to take two years.

The British pound is down to its lowest level since 1985 and stocks are also down as well.
