Briarlea Nursing Home Residents To Return Home After Pipes Burst

Twenty residents who were forced to evacuate from Briarlea Nursing Home on Sunday, will be allowed to return home this afternoon.

They were forced to leave on Sunday night, after sprinkler pipes burst due to the cold weather, and that caused significant water damage.

In an email to our newsroom, Operations Manager Charline Johnson says they have met with the Fire Marshall and the 20 residents have been cleared to return home.

“The Restoration company has been absolutely wonderful, working non-stop to minimize impact. Our level 2 wing, our kitchen, and our dinning room were not impacted, and our level 3 residents had not needed to evacuate either, which was reassuring. A small section of our home remains closed off for renovations, however, this will not impact their ability to return home, ” Johnson says.

A small section of the home remains closed off for renovations, but Johnson says this will not impact the residents.
