We officially have a Mayoral race in the City of Moncton.
Councillor Brian Hicks posted his intentions on a Facebook page yesterday, of his plans to run for Mayor.
His post stated that he will make the announcement tomorrow at 11 o’clock at the Moncton Lions Community Centre.

Hicks was first elected to Moncton City Council as a Councillor in Ward 3 in 1999, and has been re-elected each municipal election since then.
He is running against Dawn Arnold for the role of Mayor. George Leblanc did not reoffer..
There is not much of a race at this point for the role of Mayor in Riverview or Dieppe. Yvon Lapierre and Ann Seamans have both reoffered, but no one has thrown their hats into the ring to run against either or them yet.
Tomorrow is the deadline to submit your nomination papers to run in the May 9th election.
