BREAKING NEWS: RCMP Officer With Maritime Roots “Not Expected To Survive”

An RCMP officer – and former Nova Scotia paramedic – is fighting for his life in an Edmonton hospital.

Forty-two year old David Wynn is unconscious and being treated for a serious gunshot wound suffered while on duty over the weekend.

He and another officer were shot while investigating a stolen vehicle complaint outside a casino near Edmonton.

Wynn spent several years working for Emergency Health Services in Bridgewater, N.S., before joining the RCMP.

Wynn is on life support and his condition is described as ‘grave’.

Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil says his thoughts and prayers are with his wife and three children.

Meantime, Auxiliary Constable Derek Bond was shot in his right arm and torso in the same incident – he’s been released from hospital.

The shooter – 34 year-old Shawn Maxwell Rehn – was found dead in an empty house not far from where the shooting took place.
