Boil Water Order Lifted For Parts Of Dieppe

A boil water order has been lifted in the City of Dieppe for water users in the Fox Creek and St-Anselme zones.

A water main break on Thursday had prompted the order.

Before consuming any tap water, some precautions must be taken.

It is recommended to flush your water system to make sure that the water distribution system is completely clean.

Cold interior and exterior water faucets

· Run tap water for at least one minute.

Hot water faucets

· Run tap water for at least 15 minutes for a 40-gallon hot water tank and at least 30 minutes for an 80-gallon hot water tank or larger.

Refrigerators

· Water dispensers from refrigerators should be flushed with at least one litre of water before consumption.

Dishwashers

· After flushing hot and cold water pipes, run dishwasher empty once.

Humidifiers

· Discard any water used in humidifiers and rinse the device with clean water.

Ice cubes

· Automatic ice dispensers should be emptied of ice made during the boil water order. Then, discard any ice made over an additional 24-hour period to assure that any potential contaminated water has been discarded.
