UPD: Boil water order issued in Moncton

Crews are continuing today to repair a water main break that has forced numerous households under a boil water order until at least Thursday.

This impacts areas bordered by Wheeler Boulevard in the north and west, Millennium Boulevard in the south, and West Lane in the east, as well as Westbrook Circle.

Repair work will impact motorists on Wheeler Boulevard who are heading towards the Dieppe traffic circle. Crews are working between Mapleton and Connaught.

Once repairs are complete, the Department of Health will need two consecutive days of water sampling before the advisory is lifted.

While under the boil water order, residents should bring any water that will be consumed to a rolling boil for at least one minute. This includes drinking, preparing infant formulas and juices, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking, and brushing teeth.

Further instructions can be found on the City of Moncton website.

Residents will be advised when the boil water order is lifted.
