An advisory has been issued by New Brunswick’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health, warning of blue green algae in the Saint John River between Woodstock and Fredericton.
Dr. Cristin Muecke says that area has been added to their advisory list.
She reminds pet owners that algae mats along the shores of lakes and rivers can be toxic and harmful to dogs and the mats can be lethal if eaten.
Children and adults should also stay away.
