Environment Canada is forecasting around 10 centimetres of snow for our region today, which doesn’t sound like too much, but but they say travel may still be impacted.
The forecaster says high winds may still cause blowing snow in open areas. Northeasterly winds of up to 60 kilometres an hour are expected for the Moncton region.
If you are planning to travel to Nova Scotia or Prince Edward island today, you may want to reconsider. Both winter storm and snowfall warnings have been issued in those two provinces with the potential for 25 centimetres of snow, with blowing snow and visibility issues predicted. Schools in various areas across the two provinces opted to keep their door closed today due to the storm.
