Blizzard Expected To Pound Southern New Brunswick

It’s going to be a skiiers paradise, but for those who just wish winter would hurry up and go away, it’s more bad news.

We are now under a blizzard warning.

The storm is expected to roll in early tomorrow morning, bringing with it up to 30 centimetres of snow.

Meteorologist Claude Cote says says it is a very large system, but it’s not anything out of the ordinary for this time of year in the Maritimes.

He say, “This one is getting a little bit more attention because it will also be impacting all of the northeastern U.S, but as far as we are concerned in the Maritimes, this is your typical January weather system.”

It’s not the snow that is the major concern, it’s the wind gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour. That will mean a lot of drifting and blowing snow, with reduced visibility.

The storm is expected to wrap up tomorrow evening, but the wind gusts will continue well into Wednesday morning.
