Blizzard Bringing Heavy Snowfall, Strong Winds and Cold Temps To Southern NB

The blizzard on the way to Southern New Brunswick bringing a weather triple whammy: with heavy snowfall, strong wind gusts and very cold temperatures in the forecast.

Environment Canada meteorologist Jason Sheppard says the snow will move into the region overnight and the blizzard will be in full swing by the middle of Sunday morning.

He says it should continue throughout the afternoon and around suppertime we’ll see a break in the intensity of the snowfall. However, it is going to continue snowing through the night and will gradually ease off Sunday night into Monday morning.

Winds could gust up to 90 kilometres an hour which means plenty of blowing snow and poor visibility to contend with. He says we can expect windchill temperatures around minus 30 as well.

Most of the province, including Saint John, Moncton and St. Stephen, is under a winter storm warning.
